MG Cleaning Systems was a named partner on the Monarch Casino Resort Spa tower project in Black Hawk, Colorado, where drone cleaning reached 180 feet on the resort's 23-story hotel tower.
Some buildings are too tall, too steep, or too busy for ladders and lifts. That is where drone cleaning comes in. MG Cleaning Systems helps commercial properties across the Front Range keep their glass and exteriors clean, and this fall that approach was put to the test on one of the tallest buildings in the Colorado mountains.
The roof and launch points at the resort ruled out a top-down flight, so the crew cleaned from the ground up. The Sherpa HighLine supported the cleaning hose from the rooftop as the drone climbed, which let the aircraft carry less hose weight as it worked its way up the tower face.
The Sherpa HighLine is a software controlled, motorized rooftop pulley system. It supports the cleaning hose from the rooftop instead of asking the drone to lift the full weight of the hose and the liquid inside it. Less weight on the aircraft means the drone can work higher, and the system can support larger hoses that deliver more flow.
If you manage a hotel, office tower, hospital, or multi-story building, height and access are usually what make exterior cleaning expensive and disruptive. This project shows another way to handle it:
The drone does the work at height, with far less equipment staged around entrances and guest areas.
Towers and buildings where roof access is limited are the kind of properties this approach was built for.
Supporting the hose from the rooftop can allow larger hoses and more flow, which Lucid Bots says can mean faster cleaning and less time on site.
A 23-story tower at 8,000 feet is a serious test. If your building has been hard to quote or hard to reach, it is worth a conversation.
